MS. COLELLA'S ELA CLASS
First complete reading and annotating "The Princess and the Puma" by O. Henry (CATP & Identifying literary devices) Next, fill out the literary device tracker. This will help you begin to think about the author's purpose for including the literary devices and set you up for your literary analysis essay. Begin to plan out your literary essay! You pick the story to analyze--either "The Necklace" by Guy de Maupassant or "The Princess and the Puma" by O. Henry. For exceeds, you can compare/contrast both stories. See below for rubric/planning/and more resources to help you! First and Second drafts along with planning/graphic organizers will be due: Friday, March 31st. This is for ALL classes--even if we don't meet as a class (it will be a week of MEAs which means a wacky schedule). This is mainly independent work, but please come visit me in the mornings, TLT, or afternoons for any questions!!
